Global Expatriate Hospital Medical Plans
|
Do you plan to live or work in another country?
Maybe you're a new resident of Canada or just returned after spending time
abroad. Whatever the situation, you may not have coverage under a government
health insurance plan. Meanwhile, anything can happen, including an
unexpected illness or accident.
With TIC Travel Insurance, you can choose between the Basic Plan, with a
policy limit of $100,000, and the Select Plan, with policy limits of
$500,000 or $1 million. You can also choose worldwide coverage, including
the USA (in US currency) or excluding the USA (in Canadian currency).
Includes the following benefits:
 | Hospital & Medical Coverage: Up to the amount of insurance
purchased for hospital accommodation (semi-private) and medical services,
plus prescription drugs or medications (maximum 90-day supply). |
 | Accidental Dental: Up to $3,000 for treatment or services to
whole or sound natural teeth which are damaged by an accidental blow to
the face. |
 | Dental Emergencies: Up to $500 for treatment to relieve acute
dental pain, other than provided under Accidental Dental, and up to $500
for dental surgical procedures performed in a hospital. |
 | Act of Terrorism: If you sustain a loss from an act of
terrorism that is covered under this plan we will pay up to an aggregate
limit in Canadian dollars. |
 | Routine Examinations: Up to $200 for one routine annual
examination by a licensed physician, plus one routine, annual eye
examination by a licensed optometrist. |
 | Maternity Benefit: If the expected delivery date is more than
10 months after the policy start date, 80% of the medical costs for the
insured mother will be covered (to a maximum of $25,000). |
Includes the benefits listed under the Basic Plan as well as the
following:
 | Accidental Death & Dismemberment: Up to $10,000 for accidental
loss of life, limb or sight. |
 | Transportation of Family or Friend: Up to $3,000 for round-trip
economy transportation to bring a family member or close friend to your
bedside; up to $1,000 for additional reasonable costs. |
 | Attendant: Up to $500 for an attendant (not related to you) to
care for your insured travelling companion (under age 18, or reliant on
you for assistance), if you are hospitalized for 48 hours or more. |
 | Vaccinations: Up to $100 annually for required vaccinations. |
Coverage is available for anyone over 15 days of age who is in good health
and not eligible for benefits under a Canadian government health insurance
plan.
You must be one of the following:
- a Canadian citizen residing outside of Canada
- a Canadian citizen returning to Canada and awaiting coverage under a
government health insurance plan
- a non-Canadian citizen residing in Canada
- a non-Canadian citizen residing outside your country of origin while
employed by a Canadian company
